Education Through Music and Songs
Each lesson starts with songs that are familiar and recognizable to children. New songs are introduced regularly and the chilldren's repertoire expands through the semester.
ABC sing along with me:
Alphabet, Animals, Birthday, Clothes and Shoes, Colors, Community help, Family, Friendship, Health and Safety, Holidays, Jungle and Rainforest, Manners, Months, My body, Numbers, Seasons, Shapes,Space etc...
Music Education
Musical instruments: children listen to a variety of musical instruments and experience them hands on.
Music history: children are introduced to classical composers and their work through ”story time” and “ music time”
Music theory: children learn musical terminology and understanding rhythm patterns through Western and Eastern European methods.
Dance and Movement
A fun and very important part of the class. Usually incorporates the skills learned in the class. For example: We will learn 4/4 as a rhythm pattern and then dance to the beat of March (Soldier's march by Schumann) or learn 3/4 as a rhythm pattern and then dance to the beat of waltz.
Children are introduced with the beats and dance of other nations and styles.
Body work games such as : Flor and lap games, action songs and dance, freeze dance, music chairs, free style dance ,etc...
